Dentalium elephantium ("elephant's tusk") suggests a thunderous herd. This charges forward with multiple drums playing similar but not the same patterns (heterophony). The basic pattern is a twisted version of a very widespread African rhythm, so this might sound like something from African tradition, but it's not.
