Janthina janthina floats across the ocean on a raft of mucous-y bubbles. This music also floats, bobbing up and down. Occasionally the wind picks up and strong currents push the snail where they will. Gongs and chimes and cymbals, gankogui bells from Ghana, and Bulgarian tupan create the portrait. There is also a bowed berimbau that sounds uncannily like whale song. That wasn't intentional. But I liked the sound.
