about

"Remember and See" pairs polyrhythmic percussion with horn choir, in the manner of West African brass bands. The percussion is five bells with two tones each, playing interlocking patterns (with a little improvisation on the lower bells). This is modeled on the gamamala music of the Ewe people of Ghana, but I have made up these particular patterns. Trumpet solo by Don Anderson.
